Haunt & Hedge covers the gear of a serious Halloween yard: animatronic props and their controllers, fog machines and fog chillers, projectors and window effects, inflatables, lighting, sound systems, and the stakes, extension cords and timers that keep a display running through October. The buying questions come from people who have done it before. Which animatronic mechanisms survive more than one season outside? How do I keep fog low to the ground? Which projector is bright enough for a garage door? How much power does a full yard draw?

Picks follow the standards on this hub. Yard displays are built, run for weeks and packed away, and that cycle is the real test, so where a prop or machine has been run in my own display the page says so. Where a pick is researched, built from published specifications, outdoor ratings, power draw and enthusiast reports, the page labels it that way. Electrical safety is treated as non-negotiable. Commissions on links are disclosed on every page and never decide a pick.
